As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in early 2020, the Oregon Health Authority faced a dire need for a coordinated response in order to educate the public and slow the spread of disease, particularly among communities most impacted by racism, ableism, poverty and trauma.

Brink worked with OHA to develop and launch Safe + Strong — a campaign in 12 languages, designed to equip communities with critical information and resources about physical and behavioral health, housing support, financial security, food assistance and other essential services.

As a part of the creative team that launched the campaign, I developed the overall visual identity, as well as clear and accessible brand guidelines that everyone—from contractors to partner organizations—could use to create branded materials ensuring consistency and clarity across platforms.

The integrated marketing campaign included traditional and digital advertising, social media outreach and culturally responsive and transcreated materials in 12 languages.

Working in collaboration with Softbox films, I illustrated a series of Public Service Announcements outlining public health guidance.

A highlight of my work on the Safe + Strong campaign has been working with Brink’s community engagement team to provide support to community-based organizations across Oregon by co-creating print and digital materials tailored to their communities. This work has improved resource management and increased capacity for the organizations.
